Side by side, Damascus steel, smoothbore barrels with solid rib marked "LANCASTER'S PATENT SMOOTHBORED RIFLE" on top flat near breech. Adjustable rear flip up sight with six yardage positions. British proofs on underside of the barrel. Patent breech and twin back action percussion locks, lockplates and hammer engraved with double line border. Steel furniture engrave en suite. Double triggers, plain walnut straight half stock with checkered wrist and small steel patchbox on right side. Ebony ramrod with brass tip. Excellent condition, as professionally refinished. Barrels retain about 95% refinished Damascus with some area of light pitting beneath finish. Markings, excellent. Bores are bright and shiny. Actions are tight and crisp. Locks retain traces of blue finish and hammers retain about 85-90% bright blue finish. Furniture retains 70-80% reblued finish. Stock excellent with scattered marks from use. Ramrod possibly replaced.
