This standard Luger was manufactured in 1921, dated on chamber. It is a fairly scarce pistol in that most of the examples from this year are re-worked double dates. This has the original manufacture date stamp. Only a few thousand manufactured in 1920 and 1921, making this a scarce variation. Has the DWM script stamp on toggle. All matching numbers with the exception of magazine and checkered walnut grips are not numbered. Right side of the frame has the Imperial proof marks. Retains 50% straw colors on small parts. Pistol has all the usual high edge wear at muzzle, rails and sideplate. Strong, clean bore. Comes in a 1942 dated brown holster with loading tool. Includes two aluminum bottom magazines, neither of which are numbered to gun. Capture papers given to Sergeant Robert Shumskis lists this as German Luger 5518 and dated November 20, 1945. Along with this outfit comes an 8'x14' Nazi flag from the RAD that was signed by over a dozen members of the company that captured it. Rare gun with a documented history in excellent all original condition.
