Introduced in 1949. It is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle with full length walnut stock, grenade launcher built into front sight, ten round magazine, no fitting for bayonet. Weight, empty, is 9 lbs. Typical military dark phosphate finish with a high percentage still remaining on this fine rifle. Usual high edge wear. Stock consists of three pieces; pistol grip buttstock with June 1953 date stamp on right side. Numerous carvings/etching in the stock. Matching number on trigger guard. Left side of stock has matching serial number stamped into it. Forward section of stock is two pieces, in excellent shape, with saddle ring on left. Fine bore and action. These are extremely accurate and well-made semi-automatic rifles.
