This was the standard French service rifle from 1936 to 1949. It was the last bolt action general service rifle to be adopted by a major military power. Frame retains approximately 10% of the black lacquer finish. The bands are finished in the white. Forend and hand guard are original and in excellent condition. Buttstock has no finish; has the military stamp on right side and left side of the stock is stamped "14191". Fine bore and action. Would benefit greatly if one was to match the buttstock to the forend wood.
