The Walnut Hill series was highly regarded for its accuracy. This is a custom built, pre-war target rifle which features the Walnut Hill stamped full heavy round barrel, blued finish, Redfield adjustable tube target front sight, no provision for rear sight, scope locks for early tube scope, and chambered for the .22 long rifle. 44-1/2 action retains approximately 70% of the case colors. Missing the left frame target sight, military style stock with single barrel band, forearm allows for adjustable weight and two sling swivels. Has a custom pistol grip, un-checkered stock that has been extended 1" with groove steel buttplate. Very sophisticated Weaver adjustable tang sight. Fine bore and action. There is a crack and repair in the 1" wood extension. Length of pull to original stock is 12-1/4", length of pull with extension is 13-1/2". Removing the extension and replacing with heavy pad would greatly add to the appearance of this rifle which is in beautiful condition overall with at least 90% blue on barrel.
