Re-blued rifled steel barrel with rib mounted below, an adjustable flip-up rear sight and marked "ISAAC HOLLIS & SONS, MAKERS". Action marked "SNIDER'S PATENT" and "S" over arrow Snider proof marks on block and ring at breech. Block breech and barrel are also all stamped with British proof marks. Block, tang, hammer and lockplate are all engraved with fine English spiraling scrolls. Lockplate is also engraved with "I. HOLLIS & SONS" above a scene of a hunter shooting a tiger. Engraved steel mounts, partially figured straight walnut half stock with checkered wrist and steel end cap. Complete with steel cleaning rod. Very good condition; barrel retains much of period refinish bluing with some wear and scattered marks. Markings and bore are excellent. Case hardened components retain traces of case colors, mostly turned to silver. Stock was broken and has been professionally repaired. Mechanism is crisp and this rifle will be a great shooter.
