Browned rifled barrel with Damascus finish, bayonet lug/sight mounted on top near muzzle and adjustable flip-up rear sight. Breech marked with British proof marks and two "24" marks. Flat percussion lockplate stamped with a crown at the tail and marked "1861 / TOWER" in center. Complete with chain and steel nipple protector with leather buffer. Standard brass and steel Model 1853 Enfield furniture. Full length walnut stock and original steel ramrod. Complete with period black leather sling. Excellent condition; barrel retains generous traces of Damascus finish with some minor pitting near breech and around bolster. Bore is very good and shiny. Lock retains a grey patina with some dark spots. Stock excellent with a few scattered marks from use. Furniture retains a dark patina. Sling is excellent.
