Made by the Providence Tool Company 1866 to 1871. Peabody stamp on left side of frame. Barrel retains 85-90% original blue finish. Rear military sight removed. Period ramrod. Barrel band stamped "U". Frame retains 85% original case colors, some bright with fire blue screws. Cartouche on left side of stock not readable. Full length forend. Later Springfield steel frog sling. Marbles tang sight added. Fine action. Strong rifled bore. Excellent stock. Even has traces of case colors on tang. Fine bore and action. These were issued to militias both here and abroad. Rifle did not see much use.
