Was manufactured in 1917-1918. This model .250-3000 Savage rifle, was introduced in 1914 and discontinued in 1921. The power of this rifle was nearly twice that of the .22 Savage Hi Power. Features a 22" tapered round takedown barrel, checkered Savage extra full wide pistol grip stock, checkered Schnable forend, blued and grooved steel buttplate with Savage logo, high pressure steel barrel, brass cartridge counter, blued finish, case colored lever and scarce Lyman tang peep sight. Rear sporting sight with full solid circle is missing its elevator. Legends are sharp and barrel retains approximately 98% original factory blue, while sides retain 95% original finish which is turning gray at base and takedown ring. 35-45% case colors on sides of lever. Walnut stocks are near mint and proud to metal with no cracks. Action is perfect with a strong clean bore. Very nice condition, scarce short production Savage.
