Octagonal Damascus steel rifled barrel, marked on top flat "M. LOFLEY BRIGG"; rear sight with adjustable yardage, two leaves for 100 and 200 yards. Breech decorated with scroll engraving and block marked "SNIDER / PATENT". Flat lockplate stamped "M LOFLEY" and decorated with fine scrolls. Engraved steel furniture, horn end cap on forearm, and small vacant silver shield wrist escutcheon. Walnut straight stock with checkering at forend and around wrist. Good condition; barrel retains a grey freckled patina, lockplate and block have had some retracing of engraving. Bore and very good and shiny with deep lands and grooves. Action functions well. Stock shows some wear, scattered marks from use, marring to checkering and a few small cracks and losses on forend.
