Round, smoothbore steel barrel, left side of breech stamped, "NWP / P / H". Small, brass half moon front sight and concave oval rear sight on tang. Flat lockplate with rounded tail, stamped in center with eagles head over "A. WATERS / Milbury, MS. / 1841 / T". Reinforced cock, brass pan and standard Model 1836 steel furniture and swivel ramrod. Plain walnut half stock. Good condition; barrel and furniture have been cleaned and now retain a spotted light gray patina with some scattered areas of light pitting. Lock retains a dark brown patina and has probably been reconverted, as cock screw, pan screw and frizzen spring screw have all been replaced. Stock has some shrinkage around metal, a repaired crack around grip and scattered marks from use.
