Curved double fuller steel blade. Iron semi-wagon wheel guard with with large fluted wood grip. For a similar example, see pages 86-87 of "Swords and Sword Makers of the War of 1812" by Richard H. Bezdek. This model is rarely found in this configuration with the blade not shortened. This example is one of the few that have survived uncut. Fair, possibly excavated condition; all steel and iron components retain a heavily pitted surface and dark patina. Retains some white residue in low areas. Grip has a hole drilled in it, probably for hanging and a chip on the left side.
