Possibly Russian. The Damascus blade with letters "T N V L T N L" once outlined in gold, traces of gold remain. The gilt bronze hilt with twisted silver wire wrap grip. The Damascus pattern is clearly visible, has been cleaned, has a few pits but overall good. Gilt bronze hilt retains nearly all of its original gilding. Silver wire grip in excellent condition. Intriguing sword. Well worth researching.
