Barrel is dated "December 1942 RA" (Remington Arms). Standard early-war issue. Scant stock with block "P" on wrist. "OG" in box on left side (Ogden Arsenal post-World War II inspection and test mark). All proper parts for era. Retains virtually all of the arsenal parkerized finish. ME reading: .5. Proper military green canvas sling. Comes in an original wooden shipping crate used by G.I. to ship rifle home after the war. Wooden box also contains Camillus fighting knife with sheath, partial original wrapper and original "Caring for your Knife" card; and a German Mauser 98K bayonet with leather sheath.
