Re-blued round barrel with bayonet lug on bottom near muzzle, breech marked "V / P / (Eagle's Head)" and tang dated 1843. Chrome plated lock converted to percussion using the Belgian method. Lockplate stamped with eagle over "U.S." and tail marked "Spring / Field / 1842". Standard Model 1835 furniture is chrome plated. Full length refinished walnut stock and replaced steel ramrod. Fair to poor condition; all steel components have heavy pitting beneath surfaces. Barrel has a few dents. Stock shows heavy wear, scattered marks and repairs.
