The cabinet of this beautiful machine has walnut burl veneer with simple parquetry. When the slightly warped lid is opened, the amazing mechanism is revealed but still under a glass door. It has a 16-1/4" brass cylinder that has Auld Lange Syne encoded, 74 teeth on four combs, a 36 reed organ, eight strikers on a 5" drum, eight strikers on a wood block, six engraved bells with bird finials that are struck by bees. Serial no. 3718 A. Included is a crank for winding the machine and an invoice for some professional work done on the mechanism and specifically leaving the cabinet alone. It has a multitude of scratches, scuffs, and some of the varnish is degraded, and repairs have been done to the stand. An amazing example of Swiss mechanical ingenuity.

Condition: (Good - Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 35"T x 42-1/4"W x 19-1/4"D.
