Manufactured 1948. The Model 70 chambered for the .257 Roberts cartridge is not only one of the most desirable, it represented a mere 2.52% of total production of all Model 70's. Built in 1948, it has the classic war-era profile with the straight comb stock, checkered steel buttplate with teat, sling swivels and rear sight filler. Bolt is numbered to the gun. Barrel has a bit of muzzle wear and a couple of minor rubs, otherwise retains 95% of the original factory blue. Frame has 95% original finish with a little high edge wear. Checkered pistol grip walnut stock has sharp checkering, usual minor marks and impressions with a bit of finish checking to the left side of forearm checkering. Floorplate and trigger guard have 99% blue, as does the buttplate. Fine bore and action. Topped with a Weaver K4 scope.
