Manufactured 1948. The Model 70 chambered for the .257 Roberts cartridge is not only one of the most desirable, it represented a mere 2.52% of total production of all Model 70's. Built in 1948, it has the classic war-era profile with the straight comb stock, checkered steel buttplate with teat, sling swivels and rear sight collar. Bolt is numbered to the gun. Barrel has some overall thinning to grey patina. Frame has 85% original finish with high edge wear. Checkered pistol grip walnut stock has sharp checkering, usual minor marks and impression. Floorplate and trigger guard have 99% blue, as does the buttplate. Fine bore and action.
