Manufactured and shipped in 1905. All serial numbers are matching. Round blued steel barrels with solid rib. Barrels marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND/98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON". Rib engraved near breeches and breeches engraved with borders. Scroll engraved sidelock actions, each side marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" in a banner. Engraved recoil shields feature florals and scrolls, opener engraved with scrolls and marked "PATENT/EJECTOR". Bottom of action marked "ROYAL/HAMMERLESS/EJECTOR" and "PATENT/SINGLE TRIGGER" and engraved en suite. Features include automatic safeties, ejectors, and single trigger and cocking indicators on sideplates Highly figured straight walnut stock with checkered wrist Old English buttpad and oval gold escutcheon engraved with initials "RDM". Checkered walnut splinter forearm with Anson release. Complete with leather wrapped oak English case with brass corner protectors and partitioned interior relined with red felt. Inside of lid with a black leather and gold Holland & Holland label. Accessories include wooden cleaning rod, Gatley snap caps, Holland & Holland oiler, and turned wooden screwdriver. Very good condition, as refinished. Barrels have been shortened from 30" to 27" and now retain about 95% of reapplied blue finish. With some minor wear at muzzle and breeches. Bores are excellent and shiny and action is tight. Actions show little wear to engraving, some of which has most likely been restored. Actions are tight and function well. Buttstock is good with a series of filled holes from a leather pad that was once placed over comb. Buttstock has 3/4" extension and has been recheckered now showing scatter marks from use. Forearm is very good as recheckered with a few light marks. Case has leather placed over original identification panel and has scattered scuffs and marks from use, leather belts are replaced and interior is very good as restored. Complete with factory letter from Holland & Holland stating that this gun was shipped to a Hal Watt. The letter confirms that the gun was shipped as a royal hammerless ejector gun and confirms the current chamber and bore configurations.
