This lovely carved box is topped by a black screw, the finial being pierced by a pin in order to apply pressure to the interior plates and keep a number of cards pressed flat. The hinged front door has an oval recessed panel with a carved border. Both top and bottom edges have scalloped decoration. The right side has a keyhole with an escutcheon that looks to be bone. One key is included.
