This model was introduced in its own serial range beginning in 1908. Has all of the early first year features to include left side of slide has the C-style factory stamp first used January 22nd, 1906 on the .32 caliber and serial No. 1 for the .380 caliber; stamped "PATENT DEC. 22 1903" ending date; pre-1912 pony in circle at left rear of slide; first style rubber grips with "COLT" with scalloped edges and pony in circle at bottom; early type flat barrel bushing; blued finish with the high polish Nitre blue trigger, safety, grip screws, rear sight and extractor. Balance of gun is in typical early factory high polish blue finish. This early .380 retains approximately 70% factory blue finish on frame and slide with balance blue-grey patina; sharp markings and screws, and near mint grips. Front grips strap turning grey patina; rear grip strap has 90% blue. Has the second style six hole full blued magazine with high polish blued base stamped "CALIBRE .380". All of these parts are correct for first year production three digit Model 1908 per the book titled "The Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistol II" by John Brunner. This is likely one of the highest condition, lowest number 1908's to survive. Perfect action and near mint bore.
