Manufactured 1914. The Model 1908 pocket hammerless .380 was introduced in 1908 and was numbered in its own distinct serial number range. Manufactured until 1945. Features standard blued finish and third type black hard rubber grips. This grip style was introduced in 1913. Left rear slide has the second type Colt logo pony used from 1912 to 1916. This exact stamp with British proofs can be seen in figure 17 on page 17 of the book "The Colt Pocket Hammerless Pistol II" by Brunner. Crown "V" can be seen on left side of slide and frame. Grips are near mint. Gun retains 99% of the period reapplied blued finish. Near mint bore. A number of these British proofed semi-automatic weapons were sent to the RAF during the first World War. Magazine is a second type, six hole introduced around 1910 until approximately 1913 and stamped "CAL. 380 COLT". It was the only magazine offered with six holes. Interesting variation with historical connection to England during the first World War.
