According to factory shipping records, serial No. 1 of this Model was shipped on November 28th, 1908, while serial No. 8 was sent on November 10th, 1908. This gun, serial No. 142 is listed as being shipped December 11th, 1908 or approximately 13 days after serial No. 1. It was sent to Norvell Shapleigh Hardware Co. in St. Louis, Missouri in a shipment of ten weapons. It was shipped as a blued gun and is not basically a soft patina. Sports the Colt black logo second type grips. Magazine is a first type, full blued, five hole with unmarked base. Strong rifled bore with light frosting. Fine action. Case colors have darkened. Legends are sharp. Having been shipped in the first month of orders, it was one of the earliest known all original Colt Model 1908 pocket models.
