Manufactured in 1918. As usual with these guns there is no factory information available. Most of these short barrel trapper models exhibit excessive use and abuse due to their hard life, but this one has survived in excellent all original condition. Barrel shows some muzzle wear. Standard post front sight is set directly behind the front barrel band. The side barrel address is behind the rear barrel band on the left side and stamped ".44 WCF" on left breech. Has the folding ladder sporting carbine rear sight with fire blue adjuster. Barrel retains approximately 60% balance blue and starting to turn light patina under the finish. The tube retains all of the blue as either a replacement or re-blued. Traces of blue on barrel bands, has 7-7/8" exposed walnut forearm. Sits proud to metal, carbine butt stock proud to metal with no cracks or chips carbine metal butt plate. Sides of frame retains approximately 90% original factory blue with high edge corner wear. There is a mix of blue and plum on the bottom, tang is turned plum, has original lanyard ring. Strong near mint rifled bore. Nice condition early trapper.
