We hesitate to call this a reproduction or a replica, as it was manufactured by Colt and is identical in appearance to an original World War I Colt. Features the circa 1917 Colt World War I blued finish with milled surface. Left side of frame has the "J.M.G." (John Gilbert) inspection stamp in circle. Left side of slide has pony at rear. Left side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Blued barrel has the early "HP" perpendicular stamp with a small "COLT .45 AUTO" stamp to differentiate from the original. "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" on right side of slide. All other parts are period correct to include proper sights, short wide spur hammer, checkered safety, diamond checkered walnut grips and long smooth trigger. About the only part on this gun that is not period correct is the serrated slide stop, otherwise it is a spitting image of a 1917 era World War I Army. Comes in a military style box with two magazines, within a blue box with original instructions and original sleeve. This looks just like the real deal made by Colt.
