According to factory research this musket, .44 caliber was received in warehouse August 15, 1903 with no shipping date. Standard features include full round barrel, magazine end 3" shy of muzzle, military/carbine fixed and pin block front sight, military style rear sight to 800 yards, three barrel bands, blued finish, case colored lever and hammer, 25" walnut forend, and military style carbine buttstock with case colored buttplate. It has the brass trapdoor and original four piece cleaning rod. Comes with factory sling swivel rear butt and factory sling swivel on middle band. The gun does not appear to have seen any use. Besides some high edge wear on bands and a little high edge wear on side plate rifle retains approximately 99.5% of the original factory high polish blue. Loading gate has all on the lighter blue finish and does not appear to have been loaded. Brilliant case colors on hammer, nice colors on lever. Even has 80% colors on buttplate. The bolt has all original blue except for one rub and dusk cover has all original blue. Mint bore. Stocks are near mint with just a minor ding or two. About as nice as one could possibly find on a 114 year old 1873 musket.
