Curved steel blade with single fuller and decorated on both sides with large blued panels, small panels of etching, and gilt decorated designs and arms motifs. Decorative gilt brass hilt, languettes with relief wreath surrounding stars and stripes and the motto "Parta Tueri" (defend what you have won). Highly decorated reverse "P" knuckle bow with relief foliage and beads. Backstrap displays relief chiseled oak leaves and acorns at pommel. Finely carved bone grip with three sections of gadrooning. Complete with gilt brass scabbard. Excellent condition; blade retains about 90% bright blue finish, original polish and gilt decoration. Hilt and scabbard retain approximately 90-95% gilt finish, knuckle bow with one minor crack below pommel, grip with a few minor age cracks. Scabbard with a few minor dents, scuffs and marks from use.
