This lot consists of a portrait of a young gentleman, done in the style similar to John Singer Sargent. The gentleman is portrayed in a quarter profile, even though his face is also depicted in a quarter profile, his gaze is straight to the viewer. He dons a green sweater with a white collared shirt and red tie. His youthfulness is shown in the playfulness of the strokes that the artist used. The background appears to be a sea of tree trunks or planks of wood. The artist's initials can be found on the lower right corner of the canvas, however they could very easily be mistaken for texture on the clothing the sitter wears. The piece was not examined out of the frame. It is framed in a simple gold colored frame. Normal wear is present.
