This lot consists of an almost full length portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt, painted by Joseph Sachs, as noted on the plaque on the lower portion of the frame. Mrs. Roosevelt was married to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States. She stands at a quarter profile and dons a dark colored dress with a sheer layer over top. With the glint in her eyes and the smile on her face, the viewer can tell that even though her husband had the weight of the world on his shoulders, she was still a cheerful and kind woman. A plaque is present on the lower part of the frame, noting the following, "Eleanor Roosevelt By Joseph Sachs 1887-1973." The painting was not examined out of the frame. The portrait is framed in a gold colored wooden frame. Normal wear is present with minor repairs and crazing on the canvas.
