Straight double-edged blade with partial single fuller on each side. Ricasso stamped by importer and retailer "COURTNEY & TENNANT/CHARLESTON, S.C." on left ricasso, top of ricasso marked "MOLE" for manufacturer Mole & Sons in Birmingham, England. Brass hilt with two branches on right side and counterguard on left. Checkered two-piece composite grip panels. Good condition; blade has been sharpened and has a few nicks on the edges, overall with dark patina, some scattered areas of pitting and heavier patina. Markings are clear. Top branch of guard is bent, scattered marks from use overall and retains a mellow patina. Top of pommel has hammer marks. Grips with areas of marred or worn checkering, some scuffs, and scattered marks and small areas of loss.
