Curved steel blades with large single fullers, one marked "US/A.D.K./-86-" and other other side of the ricasso with Ames markings. The other marked "US/1865/-G.M." and with Roby maker's mark on left ricasso. Standard brass hilts with two branches on right side and brass pommels. Leather wrapped wood grips with braided brass wire. Roby manufactured sword is complete with steel scabbard and hilt stamped "54", possibly a regimental marking. Ames example is in good condition; grey patina on blade with scattered dark spots and areas of minor pitting, a few nicks on edges and markings partially worn off. Hilt polished and guard bent forward at top, series of scattered nicks and cuts. Grip with some minor losses. Roby example is good; worn markings and dark patina, one side is polished. Hilt has dark patina with scattered marks form use, grip good with some losses to leather. Scabbard has a dark patina and a few large dents near drag.
