This is referred to as the .38 Safety Hammerless Second Model double action and was only manufactured from 1887 to 1890. It is in the far scarcer high polish factory blue. Cylinder does have drag line and some freckling. Shows no sign of cylinder burn. Frame retains virtually all of the high polish factory blue finish. Barrel retains approximately 95% of the high polish finish aside from one little area of rubs. Near mint grips. Near mint bore and perfect action. Comes in an original box, complete with three corners split. Perfect end label. Packed with an old newspaper talking about the war in Mexico/Revolution circa 1912. Beautiful, high grade, high polish antique Smith & Wesson.
