Offered is an extremely fine condition all original U.S. issue Model 1911 manufactured in 1917. Left side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and bears the inspection stamp of Gilbert H. Stewart (1915-1918). Right side of slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Left side of frame has pony stamped in center. Has all correct parts for 1917 issue to include milled long smooth trigger, fine checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with loop, correct era barrel with perpendicular "HP" at top, blued, and two tone magazine with lanyard loop. Bore is near mint with 60% original blue. Slide shows only some light high edge muzzle wear and a couple of minor storage marks. Frame retains nearly all of its original blue.
