Offered is a nice condition all original U.S. issue Model 1911 manufactured in 1917. Left side of frame stamp "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" has been removed, which was common because, for a while, it was illegal to own United States Property marked guns; it has been nicely done with no signs of the lettering. Right side of slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Left side of slide has pony stamped at rear. Has all correct parts for 1917 issue to include milled long smooth trigger, fine checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with loop, correct era barrel with P at top which was done under William Strong, blued, and magazine with lanyard loop. Bore is near mint with 80% original blue. Slide has approximately 70% blue, starting to thin with some freckling. Frame retains approximately 30% blue. Front grips straps are grey patina. Mainspring housing is turning patina. Has the proper sights.
