Manufactured 1941. Offered is a scarce Robert Sears inspected Colt Model 1911-A1 which was manufactured just prior to Pearl Harbor. Left side of slide has the patent dates with pony in center. Right side of slide is blank (proper). Slide is numbered to gun and right side of slide is blank (proper). Blued barrel stamped "HS" on right side for High Standard and "P" on left. "P" stamped on left side of frame. Checkered short wide spur hammer, checkered trigger stop and safety, checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard and short checkered trigger. Inside top of frame is stamped "R.S." in box. Frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Has the brown plastic Keyes grips. The magazine lip is stamped "R" for Risdon Tool & Machine Co. Strong, clean bore. As to finish, slide retains approximately 75% of the parkerized finish. Frame retains approximately 50% parkerized finish. Balance of metal is a gun metal grey patina. Sharp legends. Perfect action. The Robert Sears inspected parkerized pistols were only manufactured in 1941 and are a very scarce and desirable variation of a pre-World War II Colt automatic.
