Late 20th century. Long clip point blade stamped on ricasso J. TODT / S.F. using individual letter stamps. Dark colored elk stag scales on full tang, large nickel silver crossguard. Heavy leather sheath. Blade with scattered light pitting, handle in good condition, sheath with crazing to finish. This knife is similar in appearance to one illustrated on page 327 of Levine’s Guide to Knives and Their Values, 4th Edition (1997). John Todt is a well known San Francisco cutler, having operated independently in that city from 1880 until 1915.
