This lot consists of a portrait of a President John Adams in an ornate wooden oval gilt frame. The President is depicted sitting with his body and face turned at a three quarter profile. He is donned in a dark colored suit with a white collared shirt and large lace ascot that has a floral motif. The President looks out with kind eyes and a small smirk on his face. The frame is a large ornate oval wooden gilt colored frame. On the verso, there is a dark colored note saying that this painting of President John Adams was restored and is dated 1897. At the top, bottom, left and right sides of the frame are several carved flowers. Normal wear is present on the frame, while the canvas depicts craquelure and some warping. Overall the piece has normal wear.
