This is a First Model original cartridge Richards. Has a New York barrel address, cross hatch ejector head. New, unnumbered wedge. Matching serial number on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and cylinder. Back of cylinder is stamped with a "2" and "T" and has a complete visible Naval battle scene; rebated, six stop. Assembly No. 3061 on loading gate. Correct walnut one piece grips. Frame has the correct Colt's patent on left side. Barrel address is sharp. 50% original Colt factory high polish mirror blue on barrel. Ejector rod housing is grey patina. Cylinder has flaked with approximately 10% blue remaining. Traces of case colors on frame and hammer. Traces of silver plate on brass trigger guard. Has a steel backstrap with some blue at base. Grips are excellent, perfectly fitting with some minor rounding at base. Several screws are slightly marred from tightening. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong, clean bore. It is estimated that less than 10% of all 1860 Richards conversion were finished in the blue and case colors, balance being nickel. This is very high condition for a blued model.
