This pistol was one of 520 shipped to the Naval Supply Depot, Sewall's Point, Virginia on November 16th, 1939. It has been expertly restored to as new condition, looking nearly like the day that it was sent to the Navy over 70 years ago. Retains virtually all of the expertly reapplied military style proper blued finish. Fully checkered walnut grips, proper two-tone magazine and blued barrel. Barrel stamped on left side "COLT .45 AUTO" with a proof "P". Retains virtually all of its blue. Mint bore. Slide has a matching serial number stamped with Colt pony in center on right side, left side blank. Proof "P" at top of slide at upper rear. Correct sights. Left side of frame also stamped with "H". Right side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY" All correct early small parts to include short checkered trigger, short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered safety, checkered slide stop. Near perfect bore and action. These blued pre-war U.S. Army .45's are extremely rare and this one looks just as it would when sent in 1939.
