This revolver was shipped to Belknap Hardware in Louisville, Kentucky on September 5th, 1956 with blue finish, 7-1/2" barrel and .45 Colt caliber. This was the first year that the Colt Single Action Army was reintroduced and was referred to as Second Generation. It was subsequently nearly fully engraved by an unsigned master engraver. The gun remains in as new condition inside and out. The case colored frame retains nearly all of its color and is completely covered in deep cut scroll pattern with punch dot background and engraved screw. Blue cylinder is done in similar pattern with solid gold line at breech and decorative gold triangles. Barrel breech has two gold rings. Top of barrel has 80% scroll engraved coverage around address. Ejector rod housing in 75% engraving coverage with dual gold lines. Muzzle has two gold lines. Backstrap engraved with gold accents. Even the hammer is beautifully engraved. Sports a pair of ivory grips with carved buffalo on right side. This is all done in the 19th century Helfricht style. Clean as new bore. One of the finest Second Generation engraved Colts we have offered.
