This lot consists of a portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He is seated with only a slight turn as he looks onto the viewer with his large blue eyes. The manner in which the President is depicted, he is portrayed as a serious man, with his arms crossed across his chest and the stern look on his face. He is seated at a desk, which is filled with papers and books noting that he is a man of great importance. Behind him, to the left of the canvas, is a large American flag. While the President is seated in front of a green background, whatever was originally depicted on his right side is now gone. This painting survived some grave damage as that area is heavy with craquelure- almost reminiscent of a painting that has survived a fire. What is left on the right is a small eagle that carries the American flag and a red, white and blue "V." It almost appears that this painting was originally a smaller size, as there are creases on all four sides. Now, the painting extends farther than the cracks. Overall craquelure is present all over the piece with paint deficient areas, along with normal wear. The painting is framed in a wooden frame with minor gilding. The frame displays wear as well.

Condition: (Fair - Good).
