This lot consists of a framed portrait of Benjamin Franklin. This portrait is reminiscent of the one painted by Trumbull. Franklin's portrait is painted with a three quarter profile, however he looks out of the corner of his eyes to meet the viewers gaze. The artist has painted him framed in an oval with black surrounding the exterior of the painting, however Franklin is placed in front of a darker green background. He dons a brown coat with a white shirt and a brown fur hat placed on his head. Overall the painting is in good condition with normal wear present and craquelure present. The painting is framed in a unique wooden frame with golden and brown coloring. Wear is present on the frame as well.
