This is referred to as the 1917-20 Modification No. 1 made in 1920 with 5,851 produced. Features the matte blue-black factory finish, and wide hard rubber grips with screws and Indian logo. No "Savage Model 1917" on frame. Case colored trigger. Right side of frame has the initials "SE" stamped. Gun retains approximately 85-90% original factory blue with basically some light high edge wear. Comes with two magazines. Fine bore and action. Somewhat scarce, short production, modified 1920 example.
