Manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern in Switzerland for the Swiss military. While designated the 1906, many collectors call it the 1924 Bern. It is estimated these pistols were manufactured between 1918 and 1922. Toggle is stamped "Waffenfabrik Bern" with a Swiss cross. Side of the toggle has a Swiss cross, along with side of barrel, "M" with Swiss cross on left side of frame. Rail is stamped "P63". All matching numbers on barrel, frame, safety, sideplate and toggle. Beautiful straw colors on small parts. Balance retains virtually all of its original blue with just some high edge wear on rail, muzzle and sideplate. Near mint checkered walnut grips. Comes in an original Swiss leather holster stamped "Bern" on back. Complete with a Swiss book tracing the personal military history of the soldier issued this pistol. The gun is listed in the inventory by serial number and this man was in the diplomatic corps later became an ambassador. It would be nearly impossible to find a nicer, early Swiss Luger.
