High front fire helmet manufactured by H.T. Gratacap N.Y. Eight comb helmet with a Gratacap eagle finial bearing unusual circular design on it. Front shield reads "FT Stanwix Hose #2 RFD". Complete with original liner in very good condition. Additional exact front shield in good condition, missing letter "N". Made in Cairns & Brothers N.Y. stamped on rear. Small 3" x 4" framed photo believed to be the owner in his Class A uniform. Badge with shield shape in center reads "Assistant Foreman", missing catch on rear for the pin, circa 1860's.
