High front eagle finial leather helmet from the Kutztown Hook and Ladder Co #1, white helmet, black original front shield with complete red letters and "HL1" in center and "KFD" on the bottom. Made by Cairns & Brothers, N.Y. 64 combs, complete with brass makers name plate inside, hanger on rear brim, original liner. Possibly repainted many years ago, helmet in good condition, shield very good. Circa 1880's.
