Leather high eagle helmet with metal front shield, brass banners with "Washington" and "1874" on bottom. Brass star with center "1" in it. From Conshohocken, PA. Painted black, eight comb helmet, gilded combs and "1874" on rear brim. Made by JM Migeod & Son, Philadelphia. Paper makers label inside and also stamped under rear brim (water mark). Excellent condition original liner. Circa 1870's.
