Manufactured 1934. This is the most amazing Winchester Model 63 we have ever encountered. To begin; it is the very rare carbine with the short 20" barrel, flat crown. This carbine was cased and sold by Abercrombie & Fitch of Chicago. The carbine itself features a sterling silver plaque on left side of stock that reads "Presented to Lieut. H.E. Belsher by the employees of Camp P-57-T C.C.C. Lufkin Texas October 5th, 1934". This carbine also sports factory sling swivels. Remains in near new condition. Features deluxe finished, nicely grained walnut stock; metal is blued. No signs of muzzle wear. Buttplate has 100% blue. About the only wear anywhere on the rifle is a few storage spots on left side of frame. Does not appear to have ever been fired. Comes in the Abercrombie & Fitch leather case with green lining. Includes original owner's instructions, English nickel oil bottle, two period oil bottles, cleaning pouch and box of ammo. Comes with paperwork from Abercrombie & Fitch. The CCC, which was started by FDR during the height of the Depression, attracted hundreds of thousands of workers that built infrastructure and worked with forestry and conservation that lasted until World War II. Rare enough as a carbine, even rarer as a cased deluxe presentation carbine. One of the finest Model 63's one could hope to find.
