In 1969 Colt produced 11,000 Golden Spike Frontier Scout revolvers in honor of the 100th anniversary of the meeting of the two railroads that crossed our great country at Promitory Point, Utah on May 10th, 1869. This special edition features blued finish; gold plated screws, loading gate, cylinder, hammer, ejector port, ejector rod, cylinder pin and cylinder release; and two piece wood grips with Colt gold medallion. Right side of barrel is stamped 1869 - GOLDEN SPIKE 1969" in gold. Comes in a plastic gutta percha style display case with green velvet lining and golden painted spike with original booklet.
