Manufactured 1886. Referred to as the Colt Frontier Six Shooter, early versions have the etched panel on left side of barrel, such as this one. Later versions were roll-die marked. Features blue finish with Colt black composite grips and came standard with a lanyard ring. This revolver was completely restored years ago and retains virtually all of the expertly reapplied blued finish with a hint of muzzle wear. Strong clean bore. Perfect action, although trigger return spring is a little sticky. All markings are sharp but the acid etched panel is only partially visible and basically under magnification. If one was to have Dave Lanora re-etch the panel, you would have a near new 1878 Colt as restored.
